Renovation: Hale Kaanapali guestrooms refurbished in 2002 with improvements done recurrently, including regular room maintenance and refreshment of soft goods. Royal Ocean Terrace Restaurant renovated in 2002, Royal Ocean Terrace Lounge renovated in 2003, Don the Beachcomber Tiki Lounge renovated and re-opened in spring 2005, added new beachside Barefoot Tiki Bar in fall 2005, and Lahaina Kai Tower Rooms completely renovated in fall of 2006.
